Himachal Pradesh is currently facing several environmental challenges that demand immediate and sustained attention – Dr. Monika

Speaking on the occasion of Earth Day, Dr. Monika Chaudhary, Assistant Professor at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, emphasized the urgent need to move beyond symbolic celebrations toward meaningful environmental action. She stressed that protecting and restoring the planet is not limited to a single day but depends on the everyday choices individuals make and the strength of collective efforts.

Dr. Monika who is also a founding member of the Veer Bharat Foundation and a consistent advocate for environmental protection, noted that simple actions—such as reducing waste, conserving resources, and supporting sustainable practices—can create a significant impact when widely adopted across Himachal Pradesh.

She further highlighted that women’s participation is essential in raising awareness about environmental protection and in taking responsibility for building a healthier planet. Emphasizing the importance of long-term commitment, she encouraged people to treat Earth Day as a starting point rather than a one-time event, inspiring continuous efforts toward sustainability and climate action.
