President’s Dharamshala Visit
In light of the upcoming visit of the President to Dharamshala to attend the convocation of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, the district police will prepare a separate security and traffic plan.
Speaking to the media, SP Kangra Shalini Agnihotri said that several meetings between the police and administration were took place regarding the President’s visit to Dharamshala on May 6. The locations to be visited by the President had been inspected by the district police, and the security instructions received were also implemented.
‘As IPL match is scheduled to take place in Dharamshala on May 5, with the President’s visit following on the second day. In light of this, heightened security measures have been put in place. The event venue has been confirmed through the Central University administration. Additional forces and officers have begun arriving in Dharamshala on Thursday for the President’s visit. Following this, the police administration will carry out the programme with thorough planning,’ she added.
Alternative routes will be arranged for President’s Dharamshala visit
SP Shalini Agnihotri said “traffic will be redirected on certain roads for the President’s visit, and one-way routes have been established. Additionally, the district police will provide a map indicating where traffic will be temporarily halted during the President’s visit. The district police have made efforts in their planning to minimize inconvenience for the public, ensuring that alternative routes are available for every road and location in a timely manner.”
